FIRE WALKER

It is just over ten days that I returned from my 2nd fire walking retreat, FIND YOUR FIRE. Perfect timing really to step away from day to day life and enter a zone of self reflection. It felt so good to be surrounded by a group of people who were prepared to drop their masks and be open and honest in the name of growth and personal development. In the age of the “influencer” and “instagrammable”, it was the healthy dose of reality that I needed to absorb. Listening to the brave souls who shared their inner most thoughts really highlighted to me my own perceived strengths and weaknesses. I learnt that I am not one to share much of myself. I don’t speak my mind. I have a habit of just secretly hoping instead of asking for what I want. Whilst these are not major personality disorders, I can see where they haven’t served me. Forever a work in progress. Awareness and kindness to self being the first step.

Walking over hot coals this time around was different. There was no hype, no heightened sense of “unstoppable”. Just a calm sense of knowing and understanding that I had been here before and I would be here again. Like checking in to yourself and reminding your soul that anything is possible with the right mindset. I can’t speak highly enough of this retreat experience. A true journey within.
